Chanting Spread Far and Wide; Even Into the Hearts of People
Abhay Charanaravinda Bhaktivedanta Swami, commonly known as "Prabhupada", at the age of 69, sailed to the United States to fulfill His Guru orders to spread Krishna consciousness in the English language to the West.
In 12 years, Srila Prabhupada circled the globe 14 times, established 108 temples and farm communities on six continents, saw 60 million of his books distributed in 25 languages, pioneered and firmly established Krishna Consciousness worldwide. Today, because of Him, there are 820 temples, farms communities, restaurants, schools and colleges worldwide, and 520 million books have been distributed in 87 languages, and three billion vegetarian meals are distributed.
