The Second Coming of Christ: The Resurrection of the Christ Within You, a Revelatory Commentary --- A Review on the Original Teachings of Jesus
I finished reading Volume 1 of the work on 3rd August 2022, and I went on to pore over Volume 2, which has, in every way, matched its (what I call) fellow in respect of erudition, scholarship, depth, information and novelty.
There is no gainsaying that anyone trained and schooled in bible study, and in the conventional approach to theology, and instructed in Abrahmic traditions, will have considerable reservations and unaccountable misgivings about the approach that has been adopted by the author to the expatiation of some books in the New Testament.
Because the commentaries come from someone who is destitute of the impressive academic credentials that are bound to impress long-haired intellectuals and bookish academics, they cannot, thus, be cursorily relegated to any levels lower.
What should, ironically and paradoxically, fixate the academics' attention is the very lack of the said supernumerary qualifications that distract them!
In truth, the protagonist of the bible and the commentator lack and possess the very same importance that the world sees --- they are not worldly scholars but they are emissaries from a realm that transcend the minds of this world. Their grasp of the profound messages for the world is not even within the penumbra of the best minds that have dissected the bible.
Therefore, Paramahansa Yogananda's approach to the study of the selected books from the New Testament is novel and, in my opinion, thoroughly genuine.
Much of what that has been dangerously lost in the deep interstices of denominational acrimony has been recovered and preserved in the the author's commentaries. Paramahansa Yogananda has provided stellar explanations of many abstruse passages and chapters of some books that have, hitherto, been an embarrassment to the Christian world, and cause of many a disagreement.\
The two-volume work should be the sine qua non of any exegesis of the bible, in my book.
