Swami Sivananda: "It is
impossible for a man addicted to enjoyments to engage himself in the practice of Yoga. Enjoyments lead to disease and disease leads to grief. Therefore, for the total annihilation of sin and misery, disease and grief, one should turn one's face from worldly enjoyments and make
steady advance with spiritual practices. In this ephemeral world, the
only substantial thing is God. Apart from Him , all things are
totally unsubstantial, momentary and perishable. Therefore, if, owing to our attachment for accumulation of worldly things and their enjoyment, we fail to realise God
in this very life, it will have to be indisputably admitted that our life is
only a burden to us. So, practise Yoga and realise God.
